Corexis exists because the AI revolution was happening around Africa, not in it. We're changing that — one practical, well-built product at a time.

Our Story

We started with a question nobody was answering

When Corexis was founded in 2025, the question wasn't "how do we bring AI to Africa?" It was simpler and harder than that: why does almost every AI product built for Africa start somewhere else?

The tools existed. The models existed. But the data, the languages, the infrastructure, the context — that was missing. An AI health assistant that doesn't speak Ichibemba isn't built for Zambia. It's built for somewhere else and shipped here.

Corexis builds differently. Our first product, Aide AI, is designed from first principles for African realities: low connectivity, multilingual communities, and healthcare systems where access has always been unequal. It's just the beginning.

What We Stand For

Our principles

These aren't mission statement words. They're the constraints we design within.

Substance over spectacle

We don't ship products that look good in screenshots and fail in real environments. Everything we build is designed to work in actual African conditions — low connectivity, real constraints, real stakes.

Language as infrastructure

You can't build AI for a community if the AI doesn't speak their language. Multilingual support is not a feature — it's a prerequisite we start with, not something bolted on later.

Safety is non-negotiable

Especially in health AI, safety is not a feature you add later. Aide AI has hardcoded escalation pipelines because lives are at stake — that's not a selling point, it's a responsibility.

Accountability built in

We design systems where every action is traceable and every decision is auditable. That's not compliance box-ticking — it's how trust gets built, and trust is what makes technology last.

Emmanuel Mukange

CEO & Founder

Data science and AI student at IIT-Madras Zanzibar campus. Originally from Zambia, Emmanuel founded Corexis to build AI products that actually work for the environments they're deployed in. He leads product strategy and technical direction.

Darren Takaiza

CFO & Co-Founder

Responsible for Corexis's financial architecture and operational sustainability. Darren ensures the company builds with the same discipline and transparency it demands from its own products.

Company established in Zambia. The vision is set: AI products built from Africa, for Africa — not adapted, not imported.

December 2025

corexis.org goes live

The website launches. Aide AI development begins in earnest, with the full 96,395-facility health dataset integrated and multilingual support underway.

Early 2026

Hope in Words goes live

A free, anonymous platform where real people share messages of hope, encouragement, and lived experience with anyone who needs it.

July 2026

Aide AI — Zambia launch

Our flagship product launches in Zambia. A multilingual AI health companion built for Sub-Saharan Africa, with verified health facility data across 50 countries.

Beyond

Pan-African expansion

Aide AI grows across Sub-Saharan Africa. Additional Corexis products follow as we earn the right to expand.
